Maria Machina presents a menu of musical flavors reminiscent of Souxie and the Banchees, The Church, Echo and the Bunnymen, Kate Bush, The Cranberries among others. This Portland Jazz ensemble features Danny Schauffler, saxophonist featured on Will Vinton’s California Raisins, Nu Shooz gold record hit “I Can’t Wait” and Portland’s legendary Ska Goth band the Crazy 8’s, Carl Smith percussionist for Sabroso and also the Crazy 8’s, JoseLouis Sosa on the keys known for his performances with Pressure Point and other notable bands too numerous to name, True Jazzer Craig Snazelle a San Francisco original who has graced the stage with countless jazz legends such as Shirley Nannette and George Mitchell and vocalist Anne Schauffler, formerly of Portland’s Goth band Heart of Darkness who is classically trained for boredom but has spiced things up with the music she loves.
